The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has decided to cancel batch nos. 11-14 of this year's Kailash-Manasarovar Yatra after a further review of the situation in Uttarakhand stemming from torrential rain and flooding in the state.
Three key bridges along the Yatra route at Elagad, Tawaghat and Kanjoti which were washed away are yet to be repaired and restored. The state and local administrative authorities estimate that such restoration work may take up to one more month to complete.
A decision on whether batch nos. 15-18 will proceed on the Kailash-Manasarovar Yatra will be taken at a further review in the last week of July.
Those Yatris who may desire to obtain further information may kindly contact the Ministry at e-mail ID: sochina@mea.gov.in or telephone number 23014900.
