Former Pakistan leg-spinner Danish Kaneria was urged to 'come clean' after his appeal against a life ban was turned down by the England and Wales Cricket Board during an inquiry in London on Tuesday.

According to sport24, ECB chairperson Giles Clarke called on Kaneria to make a clean breast of the matter, adding that it was high time that he came out clean about his involvement in these corrupt activities and stopped misleading the Pakistan cricket fans with his empty protestations of innocence.

In 2010, Kaneria was alleged of convincing Essex teammate Mervyn Westfield to deliberately under-perform in exchange of money during a county one-day match in 2009, after which the Pakistani was released without any charge, and legal proceedings against Westfield forcing him to spend two months in prison, the report said.

Meanwhile, Clark said that they had urged him to apologise publicly for his past actions and start the process of redeeming himself by helping the Pakistan Cricket Board's anti-corruption initiatives.

The report added that Kaneria had now seen two of his appeals bite the dust after a CDC panel dismissed his case in April.
