Kangana feels Chetan Bhagat's 'One Indian Girl' is leaf out of her 'own experiences'

Kangana Ranaut, who was recently present at the launch of Chetan Bhagat's latest novel 'One Indian Girl,' feels that she can relate her experiences with some parts of the book.

"After I read it, I was in tears. A few things made me very emotional because they sounded like a leaf out of my own experiences," she said at the event here yesterday.

"It is a very special book. It has a very humane take on a working women's life, who are struggling with their professional and personal lives. It is a lot more endearing and a lot more meaningful because it is coming from a man. This makes the book even more special. I have become a Chetan Bhagat fan all over again after this book," she added.

Further hailing Bhagat for penning a woman character wonderfully, the 29-year-old actress said that she was impressed with how he analysed her psyche.

On the same note, Kangana even added that she is a person, who hardly takes men penning women characters seriously.

"Let me tell you, I do not take women character written by men very seriously. That is why most of my directors allow me to work on my character and flesh them out by my own. So initially I read it out of curiosity. But after completing the book, I was so impressed. I even asked him (Chetan Bhagat), 'did not it scare you to enter the psyche of a woman because every writer knows that when we are done with the character, there's a part of it which remains in us'," she said.

The actress, who is known for portraying characters like 'Rani' in Queen, Tanu in 'Tanu weds Manu,' Shonali Gujral in 'Fashion,' will next be seen Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Rangoon,' alongside Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. She will also start shooting for Hansal Mehta's 'Simran' this month.
