The kingpin of Kanpur Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket betting racket is still at large as the police teams have returned empty handed.
Talking to media here, Anurag Arya, Superintendent of Police, Kanpur City (East) said "The two teams that were sent to Ajmer and one to Delhi-Swaimadhopur road to catch the kingpin Bunty Khandelwal have returned".
"Bunty's house in Ajzmer was searched thoroughly and his relatives were also questioned. One SUV was also seized which Bunty used," said Arya.
Talking about the modus operandi, Arya informed, "Ramesh, who was employed for franchise's branding, would click the photo of the pitch and send it to Nayan Shah and Shah used to send it to Bunty".
He reiterated that no player is involved in the busted IPL cricket betting racket.
The police had earlier arrested three bookies from a Kanpur hotel and seized five mobile phones and Rs. 4.90 lakh.
