The Kannada actress who had accused Union Railway Minister D V Sadananda Gowda's son Karthik of rape and cheating today said that she might take the case to the Karnataka High Court, after consultation with her lawyer.

"The primary issue is to further investigate the case and the Karnataka police is working hard on it. We are thinking of taking the matter to the High Court, but I will first consult my lawyer and then take a decision," she said.

Earlier today, a Bangalore civil court granted anticipatory bail to Karthik. The court had earlier on Thursday issued an arrest warrant against him. Having not responded to the notice issued by the police he was, therefore, declared an absconder. However, Karthik moved the city sessions court for anticipatory bail in the case and the court had adjourned the case for further hearing.

The Kannada actress had claimed that she had married Karthik on June 5 after meeting him on May 8.

While Karthik got engaged to another woman in Kushalnagar, Kodagu, his father Sadananda Gowda rejected the allegations against his son alleging a conspiracy.

The former Karnataka Chief Minister said that he was shocked to see the report and added that his personal and public life was an open book.

He had also said that it seemed suspicious that the woman had filed the complaint hours after his son Karthik's engagement.
