We had put restrictions on the internet for few hours to restrain rumours from being spread but we took this step to maintain law and order which is our utmost priority", Singh told ANI.
He added that a number of people have been arrested and patrolling has been intensified.
Meanwhile, raids were conducted at the residence of an accused in connection with the case.
