A delegation of the Sampoorn Kashmir Sangathan (SKS), an organisation of Kashmiri Pandit community, called on Union Minister of State in Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Dr. Jitendra Singh here on Friday to seek his intervention in fulfilment of their wide ranging demands including jobs for over-age youth of the community, rehabilitation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits and terrorism.
The delegation, led by SKS chairman Anoop Kaul, handed over a memorandum to Dr Singh, in which they demanded that all youth of the community, who had become over-age for government job, should be given one-time package on individual basis per year for last 26 years as a compensation for loss of tenure of their life.
They also demanded soft loan provision for all categories of Kashmiri Pandits so that they could start on their own, and seek self-employment anywhere in India.
The memorandum particularly emphasised on the demand for employment for the Kashmiri Pandit youth outside the Valley.
Another major demand put forward by the delegation is compensation to traders and one-time relief package for all registered persons of displaced Kashmiri Pandit community till their return to the Valley as per immovable properties owned by them before they migrated out of the Valley.
The memorandum expressed the hope that the government will take their demands seriously and ensure justice for them.
Dr. Singh assured them that the Central Government was committed to ensure dignified return of the displaced community to the places of their origin in the Valley.
He also assured them that memorandum submitted by them would be put up before the Union Home Ministry for perusal.
