Katy Perry says ex-hubby Russell Brand dumped her through text

Katy Perry, who divorced Russell Brand after just 14-months of marriage, has revealed that her former husband told her their marriage was over through a phone message

The 'Firework' hit maker told US Vogue's July issue that the British comedian is a very smart, magical man and she was in love with him when she married him, the Sun reported

The 28-year-old singer claimed that she hasn't heard from Brand since he texted her saying he was divorcing her on December 31, 2011.

The pop star asserted that she feels partly responsible for the failure of her marriage and blames it on her hectic touring schedule.

Perry said that she felt a lot of responsibility for the end of the marriage, but she then cryptically hinted that she had found out the real truth.

She said that she couldn't necessarily disclose because she keeps it locked in her safe for a rainy day.

Perry insisted that she has moved on now because she realised that the end of the relationship was not because of her, but beyond her.
