Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday blamed the central government for not taking adequate actions in controlling the deteriorating air quality in the national capital.
Kejriwal underscored that the air quality in New Delhi usually remains between 150 and 200 due to the combined factors of pollution such as dust, transport and industries.
But this time around, the air quality in the national capital has crossed 400, especially after October 25, mainly due to stubble burning in the neighbouring states of Haryana and Punjab.
"Union Minister Harsh Wardhan promised to provide machines to the farmers in the state of Haryana and Punjab. But it seems as if the Centre has not taken adequate steps to mitigate the issue," the Chief Minister said during a press conference in Chandigarh.
Kejriwal further said that satellite imageries mainly focus on the northern regions of Haryana and some parts of Punjab, including Amritsar and Bhatinda.
