Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, in his meetings with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister for Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday, urged both to consider the granting of full statehood to Delhi, adding that his party wants a constructive relationship with the Centre.

Kejriwal, in a series of tweets, shared the matters discussed during his meeting with the two ministers.

"Met Venkaiah Naidu ji n Rajnath ji -the 2 most imp ministries for del govt. Invited them to oath ceremony(1/3)"

"Explained to both of them that full statehood for Delhi was necessary to meet people's expectations(2/3)"

"We want constructive n healthy relationship wid centre(3/3)"

Earlier in the day, Naidu had assured the Centre's complete support to the AAP, without any political divide, for the development of the national capital.

Kejriwal, whose Aam Aadmi Party made a clean sweep of the Delhi assembly polls, winning 67 of the 70 seats on offer, was unanimously elected as the leader of the legislative party on Tuesday.

After being elected as the leader of the legislative party, Kejriwal met Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung at the latter's official residence and conveyed the news.

Jung will now send the report regarding the matter to President Pranab Mukherjee, allowing Kejriwal to stake claim towards government formation in the national capital.

The swearing-in ceremony for Kejriwal will be held on February 14 at the Ram Lila Maidan.
