The Congress on Friday said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will be greeted with protests wherever he goes due to his double standards on the issue of women's safety.
"On the one hand, Kejriwal talks about installing CCTVs and preventing women harassment in Delhi, but his own MLAs and ministers are exploiting women and he is acting as a mute observer. So, women will definitely show him black flags wherever he goes, because what he says and what he does are limits apart," said Congress leader Shobha Oza.
"He misled the people of Delhi, but he will not be able to mislead the people of Punjab," she added.
She also welcomed special court's decision to punish Preeti Rathi's murderer , who hurled acid on her at Bandra station on May 2, 2013.
The accused Ankur Panwar Panwar has been sentenced death.
"We welcome the decision. People who torture women like this, rape them, they shouldn't be punished with anything less than death," she said.
She said that after such verdicts people will fear law and it would bring some safety to women.
Criticising AAP and the BJP for the ongoing cases of offence against women, she said, "Women harassment is continuously increasing in Delhi. Whether it was Modi or Kejriwal, who made noise during the time of Nirbhaya, are now mute. Women are being tortured, harassed, gangraped. So, they should take notice of the situation and take strict actions to control women harassment."
Kejriwal was yesterday heckled by activists from BJP, its ally Akali Dal and Congress, who staged protests at railway stations over allegations of misconduct against AAP leaders, as he started his four-day visit to Punjab.
