Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday met Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and demanded a probe by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) into the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

"I have met the LG and talked to him about SIT probe into the 1984 riots case. He is very positive towards this issue," Kejriwal told media here after his meeting with the LG.

"The constitution of SIT and the terms of reference will be finalized in next cabinet meeting," he added.

The 1984 anti-Sikh riots, which claimed the lives of almost 3000 Sikhs, were triggered by the assassination of Indira Gandhi on October 31, 1984 by two of her Sikh bodyguards.
