The state police on Friday registered a case against Kerala Congress (B) leader R. Balakrishna Pillai for his alleged derogatory remarks against minorities.
Pillai had reportedly insulted Muslims and Christians at a function conducted by Nair Service Society (NSS) in Pathanapuram on Sunday.
Pillai, however, apologized for his alleged hate speech later and reportedly said that he does not have anything against minorities and supports them.
Meanwhile, Pillai's son, former minister and Kerala Congress (B) MLA KB Ganesh Kumar, has also apologised for his father's alleged mistake.
