A new research has revealed that parents who are addicted to smoking can lead their kids towards heavy smoking very quickly and easily.

Darren Mays, PhD, MPH, an assistant professor of oncology at Georgetown Lombardi said that if one or both parents are heavily reliant on cigarettes or nicotine then it is difficult to discourage their children from not just smoking but turning into heavy smokers because they might try to replicate the behavior they see in their parents.

Mays further suggested that it is wise to quit smoking because social learning plays a crucial role in intergenerational smoking and that is the reason why kids learn from their parents to smoke.
