Kings XI Punjab has extended their winning streak in the seventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a five-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 18th match of the tournament at Dubai International Stadium on Monday.
Medium pacer Sandeep Sharma's three-wicket spell, including the scalps of Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli and Parthiv Patel, was well-supported by pacers Mitchell Starc and Rishi Dhawan with two wickets each and the trio restricted RCB to just 124 for 8.
According to Gulf News, Punjab captain George Bailey and Dhawan keep their cool to steer the team home for their fifth successive victory with seven balls to spare despite AB de Villiers and Yuvraj Singh putting on 41 runs in 5.3 overs for RCB.
Starc and Varun Aaron added 23 runs in 4.4 overs to steer their team past the 100-run mark, the report added.
