Filmmaker Karan Johar, who stirred up the conversation on nepotism in an award function this year, raised up the issue once again during the promotional activity of his upcoming film 'Ittefaq'.

While speaking at the press conference for the film, Johar pointed out to the media-persons that this group was a fine example of a successful co-existence of star kids and outsiders.

The filmmaker shared, "At the two ends of this line, we have two non-nepotistic people and in the centre are the brand ambassadors of nepotism. Sidharth Malhotra and Shah Rukh Khan do not represent nepotism, which also speaks volumes about how both can work equally, efficiently and correctly."

During the IIFA Award ceremony in New York earlier this year, Karan, along with Varun Dhawan and Saif Ali Khan, joked about nepotism and mentioned the name of National Award winning actress Kangana Ranaut, who earlier called him a "flag bearer of nepotism" on his chat show.

When asked about the Telugu remake of the film (OF WHAT), the filmmaker cleared the air by saying, "Well, there are negotiations going on but nothing is confirmed on Telugu remake."

'Ittefaq' is jointly produced by Karan's Dharma Productions and Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment.

The movie marks the tenth collaboration together.

Helmed by Abhay Chopra, 'Ittefaq' stars Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha, and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles. It is an adaptation of the 1969 film by the same name, which was directed by Yash Chopra.

The film is slated to release on November 3.
