Sonam Kapoor has made entire world, especially his father proud, after she gave a commendable performance in the biopic 'Neerja.'

Feeling proud of her daughter, Anil Kapoor took to his Instagram page and shared an adorable throwback pic of the father-daughter, captioning it as, "#Neerja: India's bravest daughter. @sonamkapoor the artist who portrayed #Neerja. Me: the proudest father ever!

Sonam has garnered appreciation from every part of the country through calls, messages and tweets.

'Neerja' along with huge critical appreciation has collected a whopping INR 22 crore in two days at the Box-Office in the opening weekend.

Neerja, which released over 700 screens in India, has shown good occupancy in theatres across the country backed up by strong content and good word of mouth.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter page to share the numbers and wrote 'Contest Is King'.

"#Neerja goes from strength to strength. Fri 4.70 cr, Sat 7.60 cr, Sun 9.71 cr. Total: ? 22.01 cr. India biz. FAB! #ContentIsKing," read the tweet.

Directed by Ram Madhvani, the movie that also starred veteran actress Shabana Azmi as Rama Bhanot and singer Shekhar Ravjiani as Jaideep,was released on February 19.
