Konkan Railway conducting 24X7 monsoon patrolling to ensure safety

The Konkan Railway is conducting 24X7 monsoon patrolling to ensure safety along the tracks for ensuring safe running of trains.

It has completed all its planned safety works on routes from Kolad (after Roha station of Central Railway) to Thokur (before Mangalore station).

Nearly 950 personnel will be patrolling the Konkan Railway route.

According to reports, the Konkan Railway will pay special attention to geo-safety works, like flattening of slopes, rock bolting, concreting inside tunnels, storm water drain cleaning or lining, construction of RCC retaining walls and loose scaling.

Self propelled ARMVs (Accident Relief Medical Van), with provision for operation theatre and emergency medical aid, have been kept ready all the time at Ratnagiri (Maharashtra) and Verna (Goa) along with ART (Accident Relief Train).

Three Control rooms at Belapur, Ratnagiri and Madgaon will work 24x7 to ensuring the safe running of trains.

The monsoon time table will come into effect from June 10 up to October 31.
