Fifteen-time Grand Slam Champion Rafael Nadal has moved two places up to the second spot in the latest ATP Rankings post his record 10th French Open title win.

Nadal, who registered an incredible 10th French Open title with a 6-2, 6-3, 6-1 victory over Stan Wawrinka in summit clash that lasted for two hours on Sunday, moved up by two spots to stand at the highest placing in the ATP rankings since October 2014.

Meanwhile, last year French Open champion Novak Djokovic slid from No. 2 to No. 4 ranking after getting knocked out in quarterfinals.

The numero one spot is being retained by Andy Murray, even though the Scot did not make it to the final of Roland Garros.

Wawrinka also maintains his position at the number three spot, despite losing to Nadal 6-2, 6-3, 6-1 in the final.

Swiss maestro Roger Federer, who skipped the French Open twice in a row, is on the fifth spot in the rankings.

Meanwhile, women's singles winner of the French Open Jelena Ostapenko has jumped from 47th to a career-high 12th in the WTA rankings.

Appearing in just her eighth grand slam event, the 20-year-old Latvian crushed tournament favourite Romania's Simona Halep 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, to become the first unseeded woman ever to win the trophy last Saturday.

The top spot in the women's rankings has been retained by Angelique Kerber, followed by Halep and Karina Pliskova.

Serena Williams, who did not participate in the tournament for being pregnant, has dropped down to number fourth spot.
