Indian tennis ace Leander Paes and his Swiss partner Stan Wawrinka have made it to doubles quarterfinals of the Cincinnati Masters on Wednesday.
In the second round of the Western and Southern Open, the unseeded Indo-Swiss pair shocked 2014 Wimbledon champions Vasek Pospisil and Jack Sock as they defeated them 7-6, 3-6, 10-3 in a match that lasted for one hour and eight minutes.
The duo will now face either Feliciano Lopez and Max Mirnyi or fourth seeds Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini for a place in the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Rohan Bopanna, who is another Indian in the fray and partnering with Romanian partner Florin Mergea, will face the French pair of Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut in the pre-quarterfinals.
