Union Home Affairs Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said that the government fully supports External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who has received flak for helping former IPL chairman Lalit Modi in procuring his travel documents from the UK.
"I have earlier also said that the government is with Sushma Swaraj," he told the media here.
Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had earlier said the allegations against Swaraj are 'baseless', adding that whatever she did was with a 'good intention'.
BJP chief Amit Shah had also strongly defended the External Affairs Minister, saying she had acted in a "humanitarian" manner and "no big moral" issue was involved.
The party's ideological mentor RSS too rallied around her.
