American basketball star Lamar Odom has officially quit Spanish basketball team Laboral Kutxa after an injury, saying that 'everything happens for a reason'.
Odom, the estranged husband of Khloe Kardashian, recently returned home to the States after his spinal injury, and had only played two games for the team so far, racking up a total of 22 minutes on the court.
According to Us magazine, a spokesman for the club said that the player is suffering from lumbar radiculitis (a painful spinal injury that causes lower back pain), which could keep him out of action for almost two months, for which he has terminated his relationship with the club.
Stating that the player will complete his recovery in the US, the club further stated that it hopes the player would resume his relationship with the club once he has recovered.
Expressing gratitude to the club, Odom said that the injury is beyond his control, adding that he believes everything happens for a reason.
