Indian tennis ace Leander Paes became the most successful doubles player in the history of Davis Cup with his record 43rd win here on Saturday.
Paes, a former Davis Cup team captain, surpassed Italian great Nicola Pietrangeli's record of 42 wins.
His record win combined with Rohan Bopanna also brought India back in tie against China.
The duo defeated Chinese pair of Mo Xin Gong and Ze Zhang 5-7, 7-6(5), 7-6(3) in the Asia/Oceania Group I tie to keep India's challenge alive in the tournament.
India were 2-0 down after Ramkumar Ramanathan and Sumit Nagal were defeated on Friday.
They will now have to win both reverse singles to enter the World Group Play-offs.
