A temple in Queens is set to mark the death anniversary of a beloved Hindu priest, on Saturday, with 13 hours of song, prayer and celebration.
108 hymns are scheduled to be played in the service, the New York Daily News reported.
Manoj Jadubans, 40, the lead priest at the temple, said that Shri Prakash Gossai was extraordinary and was a very sacred person to them.
He asserted that Gossai did not just read from the scriptures.
Well-known members of the ethnic enclave in south Queens said that Gossai's lore has grown after his death.
