The Leh- Srinagar National Highway was formally reopened for all types of vehicular traffic from today.
Hill Council Kargil Chairman Kacho Ahmed Ali Khan, DC Kargil Haji Gulzar Hussain, SSP T.Gyalpo, Chief Engineer Project, Chief Engineer BEACON, Officers from 14 and 15 Core and other dignitaries were present at Zero point to formally flag off the vehicles around 10:15 a.m. today.
The 434 km long stretch has been closed for all types of vehicular traffic for the past five months due to snowfall on high passes.
The Zojia la pass falls between Drass and Sonamarg gets closed during winter.
