LG is reportedly said to be building Google's much-anticipated smartwatch, sources have revealed.
The electronics giant is speculated to be expanding its hardware partnership with Google to include the wearable computing gadget.
According to The Verge, sources said that LG is not the only manufacturer involved as other companies might also produce Google smartwatches.
The strategy to allow multiple manufacturers take out a product would be similar to the one Google uses for its Nexus family of smartphones and tablets, which pulls in hardware from more than one company.
The Google smartwatch, based on Android, would be compatible with devices from various companies and is likely to be unveiled at the company's I-O conference in June.
The report added that whenever the Google smartwatch debuts, it would face major competition from Pebble and Samsung, among other contenders, apart from Apple's highly anticipated 'iWatch,' speculated for this year's roll out.
