Lily James will play the lead role in the upcoming Burr Steers' movie 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies'.
According to Deadline Hollywood, the 'Downton Abbey' actor will star as Elizabeth Bennet, who is a kung-fu expert dedicated to wiping out the zombie menace in the quiet village of Meryton, the BBC reported.
The big screen adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's novel of same name focuses on the romantic entanglements created by Jane Austen in the original between different social classes in 19th century England but with a new subplot in which the story takes place as the dead rise from the grave.
Natalie Portman was originally cast in the lead role but she now just remains on board as a producer.
Sam Riley and Bella Heathcote also joined the cast where riley will star as Mr Darcy, while Heathcote will play one of the Bennet sisters.
