The Congress party on Tuesday slammed Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan over Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur's statements, leading to the House being adjourned till 12 noon, the second time in the day that proceedings were suspended.
"You have allowed Harsimrat Kaur to speak five times on the same topic. But we have not been allowed to speak even once. You (Speaker) can't let the government repeat their arguments five times in the hope that it will drown our voice," Congress leader Deepender Singh Hooda said.
Meanwhile, another Congress leader, Mallikarjun Kharge said, "Power shouldn't be misused. Remove me from membership; I am ready to vacate my seat. When we have given adjournment motion you do not give us time, we cannot tolerate this.
