A knife wielding man was detained by the police after he injured three people as he screamed 'this is for Syria' in Leytonstone station on the London Underground.
According to the Telegraph, the Scotland Yard has branded the attack as a 'terrorist incident' and it happens to be the first terrorist attack on British soil since the murder of fusilier Lee Rigby on May 22, 2013.
Dramatic mobile phone footage shows the assailant walking through an exit gate and then threatening to attack other people with a knife, wildly slashing the weapon through the air. He appears to slash a man's neck after the police stun him with tasers.
In the video the cops were yelling at the man asking him to drop the knife before tasering him. After subduing the attacker, they kicked the weapon from his hand and cuffed him as he lay pinned on the floor.
According to eyewitnesses, the attacker was tall and wore a black jacket and a headscarf and started attacking people at random.
One man who got reportedly got slashed at the throat suffered serious injuries and two other victims received minor injuries.
The man was arrested at 7.14pm and taken to a police station for questioning by Scotland Yard's anti-terrorism detectives.
The attack come days after Britain launched its first air strikes against terrorist targets inside Syria, hitting a key oil field that was reportedly held by the Islamic State of Syria and the Levant (ISIS).
