A lucky golfer sank six 'hole-in-ones' in just a year on five different courses, defying odds of over 183 trillion-to-one.

Drew Lumsden, who had played golf for decades, had never managed the feat earlier, but now he has sunk six tee shots in the past 12 months. And though the amazing feat has left the 58-year-old golfer with an expensive series of bar bills, he has also bagged a number of watches as prizes.

Lumsden, from home of golf St Andrews, has reportedly completed his spectacular run of hole-in-ones on six different holes across two continents.

Lumsden put the run down to being aggressive with his tee shots, but joked that it was failing to improve his scores because he was too excited to play afterwards, the Mirror reported.

Lumsden, who is a member of both St Andrews and St Andrews Thistle Golf Clubs, notched up his first ace on the Eden course in his home town, but admitted that he never even realised that he had aced the par three fifth hole until his playing partner suggested he look in the cup for his ball.

Lumsden also claimed that getting a hole-in-one is a mixture of emotions a bit like playing the Old Course for the first time. He said that the adrenalin was pumping and he thinks it took about four holes to settle down afterwards.

Lumsden's first ace came in May last year and he followed it up with a second on the neighbouring Jubilee Course's 192-yard ninth hole in September, which was followed by a whopping 253-yard drive that landed straight in the hole on 4 December on the same course's fourth hole and incredibly took his form onto Florida on holiday a fortnight later at the Disney Magnolia course.

Big hitter Lumsden then notched his most impressive effort yet by firing a 300-yarder into the cup on the Strathtyrum Course in St Andrews on 29 March, which was followed by an ace on the 13th hole at the Cullen Golf Club in Moray a few days later, the report added.
