Top English golfer Luke Donald has compared Swedish golf ace Henrik Stenson to 'Tiger Woods in his prime' when summing up his performance in this season, which has amassed him a wealth of approximately 1.7 million dollars for each of the 11 tournaments he has entered.
The 2.4 million dollars Stenson picked up on Sunday while winning the Race to Dubai title was piled on top of the 12.14 million dollars he collected at the FedEx finale eight weeks ago.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Stenson is the only golfer to have won the US Tour's FedEx Cup and the European version in the same year and had also reset the mark set by Lee Westwood in 2009 and Rory McIlroy in 2012 by becoming the first golfer to shoot 5-under in the Race To Dubai finale.
Although the world rankings have placed Stenson at the third position, behind, Adam Scott, who won the Australian Masters in Melbourne on Sunday, and Woods at No.1, however, in the eyes of Donald, the rankings have it wrong.
Donald said that Stenson's ball-striking has been as good as he has ever seen from anyone, probably as good as Woods in his prime and quipped that it is not as if the Swede is draining putts from everywhere.
Meanwhile, Stenson's caddie has earned so much since starting with Stenson in January that he bought himself a Ferrari a few weeks ago, the report added.
