Lupita Nyong'o's 150,000 dollars Oscar dress, which bore 6,000 natural white pearls, has been stolen in Hollywood.
The custom-made Calvin Klein Collection dress by Francisco Costa was taken from the London Hotel in West Hollywood when the 31-year-old Oscar winning '12 Years a Slave' star was out of the room, the BBC reported.
The Kenyan actress, who was named the most beautiful person of 2014 by People magazine, was a presenter at the 87th Academy Awards, and had said on the red carpet "I'm just wearing my diamonds and pearls. My homage to (musician) Prince."
"We talked about it being fluid and liquid. I wanted it to be homage to the sea," she had added.
No arrests have been made so far but Sheriff's Lt William Nash said that officers were checking CCTV footage.
