An Assistant Sub-Inspector of Maharashtra's Chikhali Police Station was arrested on Sunday for allegedly molesting a woman.
As per the Deputy Commissioner of Police of Pimpri-Chinchwad, the woman approached the police station on October 11 to file a complaint of ill-treatment by her husband, but the policeman harassed and passed lewd comment.
"The policeman allegedly harassed the woman, following which he was suspended from his post and later arrested," she said.
A case has been filed in the matter under Sections 354 and 345 (D) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation into the matter is underway.
