Maharashtra polls: Sachin Tendulkar, Abhishek Bachchan cast their vote

Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, actor Abhishek Bachchan along with his mother Jaya Bachchan, cast their votes here on Wednesday and appealed to the people to vote in large numbers.

"Everyone should exercise their right to vote, it is really important for the nation," Tendulkar told mediapersons here.

Meanwhile, Bachchan said people should come forward and do their duty, "I don't think you should expect anything, you should go out and do your duty. I request all my fellow citizens, this is our right, our duty. Please come out and vote just the way I did. If you want a change in the society then come out and vote."

Yesteryears divas Rekha and Bhagyashree were also among the celebrities who showed up at the polling booths.

Voting is underway across 288 assembly constituencies in Maharashtra, There are around 4,119 candidates including 276 women who are in the fray for 288 seats in Maharashtra Assembly.
