The rail traffic was affected on Thursday after a fracture was detected on the track connecting Pune and Manmad in Ahmednagar's Ghargaon in Maharashtra.
Central Railway spokesperson Sunil Udasi, in a statement, said, "Due to rail breakage after the block for construction of subway between Belvandi and Visapur on Daund-Manmad section of Solapur Division on January 11, the mail and express trains were diverted and passenger trains were cancelled."
Seven trains that were diverted include Pune-Danapur Express, Pune-Howrah Azad Hind Express, Pune-Gorakhpur Express, Howrah-Pune Azad Hind Express, Hatia-Pune Special, Danapur-Pune Express and Sainagar Shirdi.
Manmad-Pune Passenger JCO and 51401 Pune-Manmad Passenger JCO were cancelled.
