While every celebrity claims that social media has ruined their privacy or has given strength to trolls, 'Game of Thrones' star Maisie Williams feels exactly the opposite.

According to The Telegraph, Williams has defended the internet and social media claiming that it has bred the world's kindest and most tolerant generation.

She shared, "The internet is always frowned upon. People always make it out to be a negative place. But because of the internet, my generation is the most accepting that there has ever been. We understand each other, we give each other the time of day and don't segregate people because they're different."

When asked about how she could justify trolling and trolls on the net, the actress said that such people are "really in a small minority."

The 'Falling' star also revealed about the transition she went from a schoolgirl to world-famous actress.

"At 12 I was fearless and didn't care, so I really enjoyed it. But then as each season passed, the pressure built and it became a little destructive. Everyone goes through a dip in confidence. That also came with puberty. It all fizzled out a bit and I lost my confidence and now I'm slowly starting to get it back again," she noted.

Adding, "But the first two years were weird. I was having the time of my life, but I look back and think I wasn't really very happy because I didn't have many friends. I had left school and I was working a lot and it was a strange time. I remember in season two or three, other case members coming up to me and saying 'your life is going to change ' and to me that wasn't exciting. I was like 'I don't want it to change, I quite enjoy my life."

Maisie Williams returns as Arya Stark in season seven of 'Game of Thrones,' which premieres on July 16 on HBO.
