With the launch of Zilzar.com, the world's first global Islamic lifestyle marketplace platform, Malaysia is aiming for the site to become the Alibaba of the 2.5 trillion dollar Muslim consumer market.
Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak officiated the launch of the website at the 10th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIFE) in Dubai on Wednesday, reported Enterprise Innovation.
Zilzar, launched in collaboration with MasterCard, may lead global halal trading, said the Prime Minister.
He said that the conditions are apt for the new innovative partnership for the economic growth. Zilzar.com for the Muslim lifestyle sector will be like what Alibaba is to the Chinese market, added Razak.
Zilzar would most likely support the entire halal ecosystem offering people to engage them across sectors along with information and content.
