West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina here on Saturday during her maiden visit to the neighbouring country.
Mamata had earlier tweeted photographs and snippets from her official tour, saying the visit to Shadid Minar was one of the most memorable moments in her life.
"I am overwhelmed and deeply touched with emotions to experience this historic moment...It is one of the most memorable moments in my life to be present at Shadid Minar,Dhaka to pay my homage on International Mother Language Day," she said in a series of tweets today.
Dismissing fears about the Teesta water-sharing deal, Mamata had also said the people of Bangladesh need not worry about the issue as it will be solved soon.
The West Bengal Government had earlier repatriated 111 Bangladeshi fishermen detained for illegal fishing in Indian waters ahead of Mamata's tour of the neighbouring country.
