The Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Uttar Pradesh was halted briefly after a man drove his car onto the field, here at the Air Force Sports Complex.
According ESPNcricinfo, the man identified as Girish Sharma claimed that he did not see any security and drove accidently on the pitch as he was lost.
The incident, however, looked a deliberate security breach as the man ignored continuous warnings from players and umpires.
The breach happened at around 4 p.m. in the mid of Uttar Pradesh's second innings on the third day of Ranji match.
The match was earlier scheduled to play at Feroz Shah Kotla but was shifted here as the Kotla ground was engaged for the first India-New Zealand Twenty20 International on Wednesday.
