Manchester United has reportedly launched a surprising 55 million-pound bid for Real Madrid star Angel di Maria, who is speculated to also be a Paris Saint Germain target.
The Argentine is reportedly ready to part ways with the Champions League winners after Carlo Ancelotti signed Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez after the World Cup, and Di Maria has his heart set on a switch to either France or England.
PSG had earlier announced that they were no longer in the running for the former Benfica man, with president Nasser Al Khelaifi saying that they discussed Di Maria with Real, and added that he was very expensive and they have stopped discussions, The Daily Express reported.
However, the Ligue 1 champions are ready to make another move as they look to offload Ezequiel Lavezzi to Liverpool in a deal worth around18 million pounds.
Despite Laurent Blanc's interest, Louis Van Gaal has returned for Di Maria as he also looks to secure Fiorentina's Juan Cuadrado and Juventus' Arturo Vidal, and it has been reportedly revealed that the Dutchman has offered 55 million pounds for the playmaker's services.
Fox Sports journalist Christian Martin also took to Twitter to reveal that United have returned with an enormous offer, and Di Maria could pen a five-year-deal worth 1,20,000 pounds-per-week.
