Manchester United are preparing a 30 million pound bid for Ander Herrera after their first offer was knocked back by Atletico Bilbao.
According to the Mirror, Old Trafford boss David Moyes turned his attention to Herrera after United failed in their bid to sign Barcelona and Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
United, who have had two bids for Everton duo Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines turned down, have also been rebuffed by Roma, after offering 10.25 million pounds for their midfielder Daniel De Rossi, the report said.
Herrera impressed against United in the Europa League two seasons ago and is understood to be keen on a move to the Premier League, despite Bilbao's reluctance to sell, the report added.
