Manipur celebrates Mera Chaorel Houba Festival
The traditional Mera Chourel Houba Festival was held in Manipur recently.
People took out religious processions, performed rituals and staged traditional cultural items at the Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple inside the First battalion Manipur Rifles Complex.
The festival is celebrated to seek the blessings of god for peace and bountiful foodgrains.
During the ten-day festival, gifts are exchanged and feasts are organised between the hill and valley people to sustain an age old relationship.
