Manipur Govt. inks MoU for smart city project

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Manipur government and IL&FS Township and Urban Assets Limited and Pricewaterhouse Coopers Pvt. Ltd. for implementation of Smart City Project in Imphal at Chief Minister's Secretariat on Tuesday.

As per the MoU, the companies will design, develop, manage and implement Smart City Projects under the Smart City Mission in Imphal. The project will be completed within three years.

While the inking took place, the State Government was represented by Municipal Administration, Housing and Urban Development (MAHUD) Department Director Th. Harikumar and the private company by its Head-Urban Project (East and North-East) Smt. Chandana Roychowdhury.

The MoU was inked in the presence of the Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, Health and Family Welfare Minister L. Jayantakumar, Chief Secretary Dr. J. Suresh Babu and Secretary (Revenue) T. Ranjit.

After the signing of the Memorandum, the Chief Minister also took the opportunity to convey his wishes to the general public ahead of the festivals of lights and the Ningol Chakouba festival.
