Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Sunday said that he has spoken to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh over the attack on students from Bihar studying in Manipur.
Manjhi said that he has requested the Home Minister to ensure the safety of students of Bihar. "I have spoken to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh about the anti-social elements, who attacked the students from Bihar at NIT Manipur and have requested him to take necessary action to provide security to those students," said Manjhi.
"The Chief Minister of Manipur has met the students in the hostel and taken necessary steps for their safety, and the students who want to return will be sent soon," he added.
According to reports, at least eight students from Bihar were injured after they were assaulted by some anti-social elements at the NIT campus in Manipur earlier this week.
