Maoists blew up a vehicle carrying Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, killing two and injuring 10 others, in Gaya district of Bihar.
Commandos of Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (COBRA), a CRPF unit trained to tackle Maoist issue, were returning to their base after conducting a search operation. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.
"The team was returning to their base after search operation when suddenly a blast took place when they were near the camp and the soldiers in the vehicle were injured. One soldier died on the spot and other when he reached here. Ten injured are here in the hospital," said Deputy Inspector General, P.K. Srivastava.
According to reports, the Maoists also fired at the personnel after the blast.
