Matt Lanter has nabbed the second lead role alongside Nicholas Cage in the upcoming movie 'USS Indianapolis
The movie is based on the true story of the American warship sunk by a Japanese sub in the Philippine Sea in the closing weeks of World War II, where 900 crewmen survived, but were left stranded in shark-infested waters, Deadline.com reported.
Lanter will play Chief Petty Officer Brian "Bama" Smithwick A US Navy Diver from the Gulf Coast.
From Hannibal Classics film, 'USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage' would be directed by Mario Van Peebles and written by Cam Cannon and Richard Rionda Del Castro. Castro will also serve as a producer.
