With the much awaited boxing bout between American Floyd Mayweather and Filipino Manny Pacquiao set to begin in a short time from now, reports are surfacing that investors in the event are losing money big time.
According to TMZ Sports, the bout was supposed to be the bit ticket sport event of the year, but now multiple investors have been quoted, as saying that they are losing "big money".
Ringside seats that were originally going for 1500 dollars each at face value, are now going for upwards of 80,000 dollars.
Several high profile ticket brokers and investors bought up as many tickets as they could get-thinking it was a sure bet ... since interest in the fight has been going through the roof.
One broker was quoted as blaming the high prices and the fact that tickets only went on sale ten days before the fight.
TMZ Sports quoted one company, as saying that they initially bought 80 tickets,. but only moved 20, and now they have 60 high-priced tickets for which there are no takers.
Some brokers were quoted, as saying that they were just trying to break even, and anything earned above, would be seen as a huge victory.
