New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum has said that his team will need to start well in the World Twenty20 in Bangladesh if they want to keep their chances alive in the mega event.

New Zealand coach Mike Hesson has already stated it will take three wins from their four pool matches if the team are to advance from their group, which also includes Sri Lanka, South Africa, England and a yet-to-be-named associate nation.

According to Stuff.co.nz, although McCullum said that the team is full of confidence after their winning winter, he however, said that they will need to adapt quickly to the sub-continental conditions and start well if they want to progress in the event.

McCullum also said that if they manage to start well then they could give their opponents a 'good shake' as they have the necessary match-winning personnel in their team, adding that they are already becoming a formidable team to beat at home.

However, McCullum admitted that they still have many challenges and many fences to climb to be a consistent touring team away from home.

England is New Zealand's first-up opponent and will come to Chittagong's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, on March 23, the report added.
