Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) chief Vaiko has assured voters in Tamil Nadu that his party, its allies and Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will provide justice to Tamil fishermen if voted to power.
Recently, the MDMK had formed an alliance with the BJP. Vaiko appealed to the people of Tamil Nadu to vote for the BJP so that they can get justice.
Speaking at a public rally in Chennai yesterday, Vaiko declared that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), led by veteran politician M. Karunanidhi, will be defeated in the parliamentary elections.
"He (Narendra Modi) will question the atrocities against fishermen, if he has to do that our party has to win here. How will things work out unless he becomes the prime minister? The vicious cycle of DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) is going to break down here," Vaiko said.
