Meerut: 100-year-old woman raped, dies

In a shocking incident, a 100-year-old woman died after getting raped by a 24-year-old man in Meerut's Jaani village on Monday.

"The accused was in an inebriated state when he attacked the helpless woman," informed police.

The incident took place when the woman was asleep.

Police added: "He was trying to escape when her cries were heard by her brother and neighbours who overpowered him and handed him over to police."

An FIR has been registered in this regard.

Meanwhile, the villagers have protested over the incident and demand quick action.
